Pizanos Pizzeria Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I came back to Pizanos, this time during lunch, and they earned another star this time. Although it isn't the best pizza I've had, it is basically the only local non chain pizza in town. And the owner is super friendly and welcoming. Lunch time they offer slice deals - single slices or 2 slices and a soda deal. The chicken wings were not as good as I hoped, but they hit the spot and a good sidecar to your pizza. They have a decent variety of beer on draft for pints or pitchers and also some interesting bottle selections. Good seating for large parties, sports memorabilia on the walls and several TVs for watching whatever is on. I recommend stopping here - walking distance from Giant Steps lodge

I feel like the people that are giving this place good reviews have never had good pizza. I tried both the pizza and the calzones and both are underwhelming although they do pass as food. The sauce was bland...needs garlic badly. Service sucked...at the end of the night they actually had the nerve to rush us out of there before they were even supposed to be closed on a Saturday night. We still had a pitcher of beer to finish. This is where I have to tell you about the horrible mozzarella caprese salad that we ordered on the recommendation of the cashier/waiter. It consisted of refrigerated greenish tinted red roma tomatoes, with chopped romaine lettuce and rather than fresh mozzarella, like a caprese salad is supposed to have, it was grated pizza quality mozzarella cheese.

Went to this place for pizza on July 5th, I know they close at 9:00 but they had people waiting for their pizza to be cooked and yet when we walked in at 9:03 they turned us away. The place had several people eating and like I said, some were waiting for theirs to be finished. They are the only pizza place in Brian Head and I think it's incredibly rude they turned us away. We wanted to take our food togo and it would have not prevented them from getting out of there any later.

Brian Head is a favorite spot of mine for skiing and this time I decided to try the food right in the area. We had the SoCal pizza and it was one of the most delicious pizzas I've ever had. We also ordered Buffalo Wings, but those were anemic although the sauce tasted good. The service was slower than I am accustomed to, but they were clearly busy. I enjoyed watching the man spin the dough while making pizzas and dumping all the ingredients on and moving them around. At the end of day of sublime skiing, there is no better way to end the day with pizza and beers. Give them a shot especially since there are only 3 choices up there and this is the only one that serves pizza!

This is the best pizzeria in Brian Head! Well, ok.....maybe it's the only pizzeria in town. Haha. But our group was hungry, and the food was good. Sure, it's nothing earth shattering or revolutionary just good ole pizza and chicken wings. We had fried mushrooms (good), 2 orders of the hot chicken wings (tasty albeit not especially got) and a 14" Brooklyn pizza (hot right out of the oven and it definitely hit the spot). Sure the pizzeria isn't going to win any awards for its decor or anything, but if you feel like a pizza & chicken wings with very good & friendly service while you're in Brian Head, then do stop on by!

We got a 14' pizza Chicago style, two salads (u can ask for some items to be taken off if u want) and a plate of jalapeño poppers, the food was good. U can get a beer also. Service was good, down home, home made fresh pizza. Not very busy.

I gave one star because you have to ...absolutely the worst pizza place I've ever been to. Pizza dough was overcooked and tasted like cardnoard... and the sauce with the same as a dipping sauce for the mozzarella sticks. When we went up to the counter to ask for Parmesan cheese the guy at the register said there's four out there I have to just go and find one. We were at a campsite and it was too cold to cook so would have pretty much ate anything... we threw the rest of the pizza out it was seriously that bad.

We will not eat here again. Besides having no children options (sizes). The calzone we ordered took 45 min to come out to us. The calzone bread was dry, flavorless and way too big/thick. I ordered just a plain old salad. Nothing else (celiac disease) and the mr and I got back to our hotel taking turns in the bathroom. That dinner went straight through us and made us so sick.

In a word... Meh. We got a variety a food for a decent sized group... A couple pizzas, a pasta dish, mozzarella sticks, and garlic knots. The mozzarella sticks were cold and we had to heat them up more in the oven ourselves. The garlic knots were lacking in any garlic flavor. The pizza was just okay. Not horrible but nothing special by any means. Didn't seem like fresh made dough, though, which I would kind of expect for a pizza place that isn't Pizza Hut. The pasta had chicken on it, but it looked very unappetizing... Like it came out of a bag already cooked and sliced and they just had to heat it up. In a nutshell, it didn't seem like anything here was made in house or made fresh. They are lucky people have limited options for dining, otherwise I'm not sure if this place would survive.

My family loves Pizzanos...family owned and operated for 12 years. The owners Tony and Melissa make you feel right at home while providing awesome service and tasty food. They have several options for craft draft beers as well as wines by the glass. We usually order pizza, wings, and apps... But they have soup, salad, pasta, and sandwich options.

This pizzeria is located in a very convenient spot in Brian Head. They are just next to giant steps which makes it the perfect destination after a day of skiing. They sell pizzas at a reasonable price and pitchers of beer which makes it even better. This establishment is packed during peak hours once the slopes are closed. So if you are planning to come keep in mind that everyone will be hungry after a day in the snow. We ordered the chicken wings which were good, but nothing out of this world. My friend also ordered the chicken parm sandwich which was very large and looked very appetizing. Overall, a good bar to have drinks with friends and maybe to get some carbs in!

My experience 1/31/2014: (delivery call) I called to see if Pizanos delivered. The girl asked and said yes, but call back at 4pm they don't take call delivery orders before 4pm. When I called back at 4, I gave the girl my address, made my order, and at the end she informed me they don't take cards over the phone. But, they had an ATM at their store I could use. That is weird because, why would I drive there to use an ATM to drive home for delivery? Makes absolutely no sense, but, it was not her fault, policies are policies. (experience before we order) We walked in and likes the feel for the restaurant. It has a home italian feeling. As I was waiting in line, I heard the owner saying bad things about the restaurant Korner Cafe( **** 1/2 stars on yelp). He called him an idiot. Something about he did not like the smokers location. He also called someone I do not know an A****** in front of other customers. Bad language in front of children to me is unacceptable in a family restaurant. I also felt like it was unprofessional to talk negatively about the guy next door. I have always felt, if your burn down your neighbors house, it doesn't make yours look any better. Anyways, I then hear the owner walk in the back and hand a call in order his pizza. The guy gives him a tip and the owner walks to the back and says "woooho a $1 tip" sarcastically. At this point, I am saying this guy is a joke. Against my better judgement, i decide to proceed and order with my wife. (the order) We ordered a small pizza, garlic knots, and one drink(pepsi), and a ranch for .55 cents that I felt was super petty to charge for. After we made the order, I handed the girl(blonde girl, same girl from phone) my card, and she turns the screen around and says " tip or no tip", not "please sign here", just "TIP OR NO TIP"..... I am a good tipper, and I have no problem with it, but this made me very uncomfortable. I just walked up to you and you took my order, what should I tip for at this point.... ? How do I know what type of service I am going to receive? I went ahead and push zero for tip and took at 2 bucks from my wallet and put it in her tip jar. (the service) The garlic knots came out in 2 min, which made me think, how fresh are these? They came out with a lot of knots maybe 6+, and a really small cup of cold marinara sauce. I will get more into the food next. A few minutes later our pizza came out. I was happy with the timing of the food. We asked the same girl who took our order, and spoke to on the phone, if they had parmesan. There was none on our table or other tables. She said, yes, I can get you some. She brought out a few packets of parmesan, the kind you get form pizza hut if you ask a delivery driver for parmesan. She then informed us that people have been stealing the parmesan cheese shakers. Stealing them...? that is odd, but Ok, if you don't have any, i get it, NP. This part BLOWS my mind, the table next to us, had these two kids, probably 11 and 12 years old. They ordered a pizza and also asked for parmesan to a different girl server (short dark hair), she says, sure NP, and brings them out a fresh shaker of parmesan, what we were hoping for. I was dumbfounded, did this girl think my wife and I might steal a parmesan shaker? Was she just uninterested in helping us? I was thinking why did I give this girl $2, she deserved nothing. Whatever, I moved on. (the food) I told myself, I did not want the experience so far to ruin my wife and I date night. I decided to keep in open mind on the food. I would give the garlic knots, no stars. They tasted hard, no flavor, and the marara was too small, cold, and had no real flavor. It was almost like the owner did not care about his sauce and just threw something together. Bland would be the best way to put it. An open can of tomato sauce in a cup. The pizza I would give one star, it was warm which was an improvement from the knots. It was the same sauce from the kots was in the pizza, and it was terrible. The pizza taste worst this a $5 hot and ready. I am serious! I can honestly say the best part of the meal was the Pepsi we ordered, and I am a coke guy. (bottom line) Bryan Head is limited in food choices, I get it.. but this is not the place for just ok italian. They do not care about your business. I hope they can learn from this post, and provide better food and service to future customers, because it will definitely not be us.

Bad pizza, Awful awful garlic knots and calzones. Very disappointed with this place. Was looking forward to a good pizza night with the family while in BH and we had to find something else in the fridge to eat. Please get better Pizanos.

  • PJ T.

Pizza is so so, eat it while its hot but even when its hot the crust is like biscuit hard, thin crust cant fold to eat. We ordered maui wowi too much jalapenos that took over the whole taste, fried mushrooms are bitter and overcooked hard near to burning, wings are typical buffalo wings. But having this kind of joint near the slopes far from everything is a place to go to keep you warm. If maybe they improve the crust it will take the pizza to a whole new level then ill give more star.

This place is one of the few places to eat up the hill at Brian Head resort. The pizza here is pretty meh, mostly due to the sauce not being very robust. However the wings here are delicious! Definitely the thing to get after a long day in the snow. Prices are on the high side. Needs some Yelp check-in specials or something...

  • Melissa L.

After reading the previous reviews we decided to stop by anyways and so glad we did! Upon entering we found a table and were surprised to see the variety of food they had to offer. We ordered mozzarella sticks, hot wings, house salad and an 18" pizza! The sticks were better than some sold at fancier restaurants, wings were just as good. The house salad was fresh and delicious and definitely bigger than an average side salad. The pizza was huge and delicious. The sauce was not bland as others had mentioned. I don't know why the previous people gave it such bad reviews maybe they don't know much about pizza?? I would definitely go back and eat there again service was fast and very friendly!

like everything else in Brian Head, old and outdated. I think we should have listened to the writing in the bathrooms before we ate here. The bathroom walls told us that this place "sucked, don't eat here!" and boy were they right. I uploaded a photo of my calzone, please check it out. So I get the calzone delivered to my table and it looked on the brink of charcle on top, so I flip it over and it is black charred on the bottom. I can't beleive they would even attempt to serve it to me like that. I mean, come on, take pride in what you make! They didnt aologize once. They made me another one but it really didnt taste well. Adding a but load of cheese doesnt make something terrible taste any better, but they sure did try. I didnt eat anywhere else at Brian Head, but I can tell you that your luck is best spun anywhere else.

Very bad service. Cook made our wrong pizza and basically said oops too bad I made a mistake! No comp even though we been waiting half hour!! Don't waste your time!

They have the best pizza and chicken wings. Locals and friends told me about this place in Bryan Head, Utah and they were right. Great ambience and they really make you feel at home. Staff was pleasant and friendly and I would definitely take my family back to this place to eat again.

Good pizza, nice atmosphere, right next to the Brian Head ski resort so super convenient. Prices are good for being close to a resort. Friendly staff. Recommended.

Apparently when you run a restaurant in a resort village you don't have to make food that actually tastes good or sell said food at a reasonable price. Pizano's is a great example of this. I would say that chucky cheese has way better pizza than Pizano's and you can get it for under $20. That being said I still ate the whole thing....yup, if the Navajo Taco doesn't do me in this pizza surely will. I give this crap in a pizza box a 1.

  • Scott S.

The pizza wasn't bad, but as others have noted, the sauce is bland. Crust, cheese, pepperoni and bacon were all tasty, and the aroma was terrific. Would merit 4 stars if their sauce was better. But there aren't many dining choices at Brian Head, so what are you going to do? Also, beware of 5-star reviews where the reviewer has only rated 1 to 3 locations.

    (3)
  • Ari C.

As many people have mentioned there aren't many places to eat once you are on the mountain. If you are in the mood for some good food and beer then this is the place. It can get a bit busy sometimes but the employees seem to be working their butts off!

We had a pretty lousy time here tonight. We had been waiting about 55 minutes for a pizza when we decided to just get the pizza to go since it was getting late. Turns out they LOST OUR PIZZA. We had to go up TWICE and ask before they would tell us this. When we went up to ask about the pizza the first time and we were told "I got 11 pizzas ahead of you." And nothing else. Terrible customer service, lousy atmosphere and the people after us just got served before us. The redeeming factor came from one of the employees/manager named Sean. He apologized profusely and comped our meal (when it eventually came). He is the only reason I didn't give this a 1 star review. Even though the pizza was decent I cannot honestly give this review anymore than a 2 because it was absolutely unacceptable to wait over an hour for a pizza (total wait time came to about an hour and 20 minutes) and to deal with such uncommunicative employees (exception being Sean).

Pizanos is a must when you're in Brian Head. My friend and I were in town for a short ski trip and these guys were recommended by Georg's, where we were staying. Tony was super friendly and really entertaining. Even though we ordered a 16" pie they brought out an 18" (free of charge) because "we looked hungry." Fried Ravs were good, local beer was good, but the pie was amazing! Food quality, selection and overall ambience make this place my favorite in Brian Head.

Pizanos Pizza is great! The calzone is delish and the pizza has a great crust. I got pizza with ricotta on it and some veggies and it was great. The wings are also VERY good! A gem in Brian Head - great staff and fun atmosphere. We will definitely be back. A great pizza place in Brian Head - a place to relax and have fun with family or friends. Simple, great food.

The pizza isn't anything to write home (or on Yelp) about. But they have some good beer, and a very friendly staff. Get the Hops Rising, it's fantastic.

Sorry, but major hygiene issues. I agree with most of the reviews here that food is pretty good. We enjoyed our salads and pizzas. The restaurant is quite downscale, and not very clean. But the reason I have to give a one-star review is the disgusting scene we observed on Sunday night, January 6th, 2013. The same guy who was making our food came out to clean and bus tables. He sprayed a ridiculous amount of windex on the tables around us, sending a cloud over us and our food. Then, he cleared dirty drinking cups by sticking his fingers into the glasses, most of which were full of liquid left behind by departed guests. Then he went directly back into the kitchen without washing his hands and started making food again. This is unacceptable behavior in a public eating establishment. We are fortunate not to have gotten sick eating there. So, go ahead! Take a chance. If you have a really strong immune system, the food is pretty good!

As others have indicated, there are not a lot of places to eat in Brian Head however Pizanos is a hit with me. It seems to be a very popular place to go once the slopes are closed. We arrived around 6:15 pm to find it extremely easy to find a table as the rush crowd had already left. Now 6:15 may seem early but Brian Head is a sleepy little town and I get the feeling that 6:15 is actually quite late. Pizaznos is a sit down pizza joint however you need to go to the counter to place your food and drink order. It is your typical pizza restaurant that serves pizza, calzones, salads, some appetizers and beer and wine. The night we went, they did not have the Garlic Knots which I was kind of looking forward to based on another review. Ordered garlic bread instead and if filled the void. We ended up going with a pepperoni, bacon and mushroom pizza. The crust is a thin crust so if you're looking for a deep dish, this isn't the place. We found the pizza to be very tasty and very filling. Found out an interesting fact about Utah that I did not know. We were traveling with kids and to keep them occupied, pulled out a deck of cards for them to play while waiting for our food. Apparently you can not play cards of any sort at any establishment that serves alcohol. Needless to say, the cards were put away. The owner of the place is originally from Long Beach, CA so along his walls you have different Dodger and Laker items to make it a pretty cool atmosphere. We found the service to be very good although there were only two people working that we could see. We will return to Pizanos when we return to Brian Head.

Brian Head is a great place to ski or snowboard but one of the only downsides to it is a lack of dining options. Pizanos Pizzeria is one of only a handful of eateries. My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. The pizza was surprisingly good! We could see the cook tossing the pizza in back, the result was a crust that was just thin enough and tasty. They were a little heavy handed on the toppings, but that's better then being skimpy. We also tried the toasted raviolis, basic but good. Pizanos has decent 3.2% beer options but no hard liquor.

    (3)
  • B C.

Pizano's has a captive audience, since Brian Head is a tiny township/resort, and what else are you going to do? That being said, if I'm paying their prices, the least they can do is construct pizza where the cheese + toppings don't all slide off with the first bite. Annoying! We had a one-topping 14 inch pizza, $13. Their specialty pizzas sounded intriguing, but $15 for a 12 in specialty, $18 for a 14 in specialty, you get the picture. Calzones range from $11 - $17.50. The tomato sauce could maybe use some garlic, some flavor; as other reviewers here have commented. My husband says their wings are very good-- but terribly expensive for how many you get. Again, what else are you going to do? Drive down the mountain to Parowan or Cedar City? Pizano's is betting not.

My family and I were visiting Brian Head for the weekend and had a restaurant.com certificate that we wanted to use for this place. The people were very friendly and since we just got in we didn't feel like having to "dine-in" as the certificate had required and the person we spoke to said that we can pick it up instead. The pizza was great but we ordered buffalo wings that were sweet. I LOVE buffalo wings so this was a HUGE dissapointment. I am willing to give this place another try and hopefully the next time I order wings it will by spicy and NOT sweet.

Options are few in Brian Head, Pizanos was still busy at 8:30 on a Satuday so we stopped in. They were out of pizza dough, so sandwiches were our only option. We had the meatball and chicken parm. Also, tried Jamaican Lager which wasn't bad considering a much lower abv than I'm used to. The meatballs were surprisingly delicious. Tender and flavorful. Highly recommended! The chicken parm was good, too. My only complaint is that the sauce is pretty acidic, but I'm also senstive to it. Onion rings came on the side, they were very good. Overall, Pizanos was a pleasant surprise.

My wife and I were visiting Cedar Breaks National Monument near Brian Head, UT back in the summer of 2009. As other reviewers have mentioned, there isn't a whole hell of a lot of restaurants to choose from, but one of the locals recommended this place. And WOW! This place has some really tasty pizza, and a decent selection of cold brews. Who would have thought such a great little pizza joint would be found up here in a tiny little mountain town? Yum!

This probably deserves a 2.5, but I'm not going to get on my soapbox about the half stars here... Food was just okay, it wasn't bad, it wasn't great. Hubby and I shared a small calzone and it was massive. Definitely enough for four people if you aren't a football player or something like that. TV's were on and there was beer, so we were happy there.

I have eaten in Pizanos several times over the years. I have tried most of the items on the menu and have not been disappointed once. It is not a chain so the owners are in the kitchen cooking everyday. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fun. It is a great place to take a break from skiing. I have been to some of the larger ski resorts in the Salt Lake area and they could use a Pizanos near their resorts. Good job keep up the good work!

Brian Head is a snow ski area, but we heard the ski lifts were open in the summer for rides to the top of the mountain to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We went there last June and stopped at Pizanos for pizza. We were the only patrons there (it was June). The place had a sports bar feel. The pizza was pretty good. Everyone was full. The price was middle of the road; not cheap, but not expensive. I would go again if in the area.

Second trip to Brianhead=second trip to Pizanos. Brianhead's lack of restaurant choices always lead us here. But that isn't a bad thing. We always enjoy coming here. The staff is super friendly and fun. After chowing down on pizza we finished our meal with home made ice cream cookie sandwiches and a Brianhead Sundae. After we ordered our cookie sandwich, everyone in the place saw how good they were and order 1 too. Don't expect anything fancy or gourmet. But if you are looking for good pizza and a fun environment to hang at after hitting the powder, this is the place.

Best pizza I have ever had!!! The pizza is really tasty and flavorful. Every time I go to Brian Head in the summer and winter, Pizanos is a must go! Their Maui Wowi pizza is one of the best I've ever had. Pizanos is family friendly and is extremely close to the Ski slopes and resorts. I highly recommend eating at Pizanos!

well, at least the pizza was hot. and we needed to eat. seriously tho, the pizza's construction was awesome. looks like the real deal crust (even at this high altitude), the toppings were pretty good ~ they looked fresh and had the right texture ~ the sausage, the ricotta cheese, the tomatoes, the onions... BUT THERE WAS NO FLAVOR. nothing. none. nada. the hot wings were better, imho, than the pizza. but when you are on the mountain, what else are you gonna do? the delivery was free tho to my cabin, +1 star on that.

My husband and I have eaten here many times throughout the years. We have tried many items from the menu and they are all consistently pretty good. Definitely better pizza than you would expect for a small resort town. It is not super cheap, but not very expensive either. It's located in a resort after all. We enjoy it once in a while after a long day of skiing or mountain biking, along with a pitcher of beer. They will also deliver to your cabin or condo.
